On Sunday 17th August 2008 the Society held it's 7th Annual bird Sale at the Queanbeyan Showground. After a cool, frosty start to the day, it evolved into an almost perfect day for a bird sale.
Over 800 birds were lodged by nearly 70 sellers, with approximately 450 people passing through the door. the clearance rate for birds sold was in excess of 70%. most sellers seemed very happy with their result.
We had seven trade stands and all reported brisk and good business
We would like to thank our sponsors who kindly donated raffle prizes and supported us:
The following members and helpers need to be thanked for their assistance in both setting up the pavilion for the sale, assisting and helping during the sale and cleaning up after the event.
The Zarb family (Fred, Matt, Connie (Connie especially for coming to our rescue with the catering at such short notice)
Due to the success of the sale, we have outgrown the current venue, and will look at alternatives for next year. if anyone has suggestions please let Mick Logan know.
